A Guide to Spring 2024 Trends

Dear Reader,

Welcome back to your favorite fashion column. Since coming back from Spring Break, the sun has been shining on our beloved BC campus. More and more people sit outside to do their work, and with this change in weather comes a change in our daily fits. Gone are our big puffers, and Ugg boots, say hello to flats, skirts and cropped jackets! However, if you felt like you were just getting comfortable navigating the Winter 2023 trends, don‘t worry, today I’m letting you in on all my favorite Spring ‘24 trends!

My favorite trend this season is definitely the leopard print. Yes, you read that right, leopard print is SO back! If you want to impress everyone, try to incorporate a little cheetah in your outfit. But please, don’t let the boldness of this trend scare you away! I know the cheetah-print can be a lot, but to partake in this trend even an accessory is enough. To all my millennial crowd, dig deep in your closets and reclaim your once favorite cheetah scarf or pants. To Gen Z, buy whatever makes your inner Kate Moss happy. Ganni has great options regarding gorgeous leopard prints, however, the price tag might deter most. My advice, harbor Instagram reels until you find small boutiques that carry the leopard print. Shoes are also a great way to incorporate this trend into your outfits a little more subtly - whether it’d be in the form of Adidas Sambas or ballet flats, getting in on the leopard print trend will definitely gain you a couple points on the trendy scale. However, don‘t over do it! Trends cycles are shorter than ever and one or two cheetah statement pieces are enough if you‘re not totally in love with the trend.

Metallics are in to stay! And this is great news. Ever since the Paco Rabanne obsession a few years ago, metallics have become a staple in every wardrobe, and I‘m all for it. So keep on wearing your gold mini-skirts, silver jeans, and metallics nail polish. Yet don‘t forget to mix aesthetics. If you go for a tiny skirt on the bottom, balance it out with a slightly oversized t-shirt on the top - if you dare, you could also pair your favorite metallic piece with your new cheetah closet addition. This spring, even though a big part of the population will stay on a more minimalistic aesthetic, don‘t be scared to do too much, I‘m all for it. Follow the steps of Venetia (in Saltburn), and don‘t be afraid to be the coolest by mixing patterns and glitter.

Fringe, suede leather, flowy fabrics, boots, and cut outs. You guessed it, Boho Chic is back! Or so did the Fall 2024 Chloe Show make it seem. Chemena Kamali made her debut collection for this fashion week, and she did not miss. Boho Chic has been slowly coming back for at least a few years with the return of the cowboy boots and cut outs everywhere, but this collection makes the return official. So this Spring, take inspiration from Isabel Marrant, unleash your inner Serena Van Der Woodsen in a 2024 way, and I promise you will be voted best dressed everywhere you go. Keep pairing your cowboy boots with smocked mini-skirts, floral prints, add a little fringe here and there, and you‘ll be all set for Spring 2024.

Now that you know all about my favorite trends for this upcoming season, I hope it’ll be a little easier to wake up in the morning and craft a cute outfit for your day.

Can’t wait to see all these trends on the quads this Spring!

Xx
