Gala Wrapped!
The Boston College Fashion Club hosted their End of Year Gala on April 16th, featuring a social hour & a fashion show. If you were lucky enough to attend, you know the evening was out of this world, a success in every sense of the word. If you couldn’t grab a ticket, join us as we revisit the runway.
Guest in Residence
The show kicked off with pieces from Guest in Residence. Founded in 2022 by model and creative director Gigi Hadid, Guest in Residence celebrates the comfort of cashmere with a modern twist. The pieces are more than just comfy looks, but clothing that can be passed down for generations to come. Additionally, the brand emphasizes sourcing cashmere through ethical production practices while still making its items accessible. Our audience fell in love as the classic cashmere styles hit the runway.
Marcella
Our second brand was New York-based Marcella. Inspired by its founder’s grandmother, a leading designer in Bulgaria, Marcella carries forward a legacy of creativity and ambition. Driven by its mission, Design That Matters™, the brand focuses on accessible design, social impact, ethical production, and sustainability, supporting girls’ education with every purchase. Marcella left its mark on the runway, leaving behind a refreshed sense of fashion that not only looks good, but does good.
Mathias Majano Martinez
Next up was student designer Mathias Majano Martinez’s brand. Mathias is a designer, an aspiring model, and a skateboarding enthusiast. Tied into that love for skateboarding, his inspiration for his designs comes from both skateboarding and rave culture. His pieces feel unique and personal, representing the creativity of students on campuses everywhere.
Charlotte Benson
Following Mathias was our very own Charlotte Benson, a student designer studying Economics and International Studies. Her designs were inspired by ethereal, orbiting elegance, especially with combinations of iridescent satins, whimsical feathers, and shimmering sequins. A sophomore at Boston College, Charlotte perfectly captured the celestial element of our show.
Poshmark
Our next brand was Poshmark, the second-hand fashion digital powerhouse. Poshmark was founded in 2011 with the intention of powering shoppers through technology. Users can buy, browse, and sell their clothes, creating a more sustainable and fashionable lifestyle. Poshmark makes online shopping and selling fun, allowing people to cash in their old clothes and get some cash in return. With over 350 million items sold and over 10,000 brands on their website, our show featured just a few of the fabulous pieces Poshmark has to offer.
PIRAL
We closed out the evening with PIRAL, a trend-forward brand rooted in premium denim and modern design. Known for elevated essentials and statement pieces, PIRAL blends timeless style with a fresh, contemporary edge. Their looks hit the runway as the audience took in the final pieces of cosmic clothing.
And with that, another successful End of Year Gala is in the books. Boston College Fashion Club offers our sincerest gratitude to all the brands, designers, models, and guests who made the evening possible. We couldn’t have done it without you. See you all in the fall!
