2025 Trends

For those who just did their annual spring-closet-cleanout and are looking to refresh your wardrobe, let us tell you what you should be looking forward to for Spring 2025. If you haven’t heard the term yet for the next big spring collection, we’ll be the first to tell you: NuBoho is the #1 key trend for the upcoming months. Think: tan suede, delicate laces, maxi skirts, ruffled-high necks, and Pantone’s Mocha Mousse shades. If you’ve been scrolling on TikTok lately, you’ve probably seen this incoming trend connected to designer Isabel Marant. Her stuff is absolutely stunning, but for those who also gasped at the price tag, we suggest popping into your local Zara for more college-friendly options.

If you’re looking to invest in some staples, don’t worry: wide-leg jeans aren’t going anywhere. You can keep those pairs in your drawer for the next few months! For those going the more Alix-Earle-route, Glamour just declared slim jeans to be easier to style this spring than your typical wide-legged pair. And, because a plain white tee will never go out of style, the classic baby tee continues to stay for 2025- but with a much longer torso than prior years. We can expect more hemlines to hit the waist rather than stay cropped. For those looking for the perfect white tank top, expect to see more and more scooped necklines in stores (possibly with embellishments, too). While classics stick around for a reason, this year we’ve seen a lot of push for beaded embellishments, sequins, and popping accessories.

For anyone looking for a way to spice up evening attire this year, “tulle wraps” was voted as one of Vogue’s biggest key trends coming up this summer. Right now, Revolve is full of them; they’re selling tons of dresses with tulle flowing from the hemline- like this one from SNDYS. Not only does it bring dimension to simpler pieces, but adds a layer of dimension to them as well. Vogue calls this the “naked dressing” phenomenon- where mesh and tulle bring for sheer looks on the runway. Lots of these tulle looks coincide with the NuBoho looks that brands are pushing out.

Last but not least, Vogue predicted “Summertime Prep” to enter storefronts, for those looking for pops of color. Aside from the return of the tan trench coat, many seaside-inspired pieces like Proenza Schouler’s striped knit dress will carry into the summer. We see a spike in popularity for boat shoes, seemingly here to stay for the summer as well. These shoes were seen on some designers’ runways for Spring/Summer 2024, but have carried over into 2025 and are looking to trickle down into contemporary stores. Just take a look in the Free People right off Newbury: the original Sperry boat shoes should be out for display right now. As we all know, trends come and go and can’t always be predicted; so if these trends don’t speak to you… they may change and evolve throughout the year!
