Sophie’s Favorite Nail Trends of 2021

I’ve never liked boring nails.  Especially after this past year, I think everyone is looking for something a little funky in their lives, aka fun nail looks.

Here are a few of my favorites that I have noticed so far this year.

1. Squiggle Nails

I’m calling these “squiggle” nails, but call them what you want, they’re just—plain and simple—CUTE. Shoutout to one of my baes, Maggie, for trying these nails out in a pink squiggle.

2. Colorful French Manicure

I’ve seen a TON of people try different colored tip nails in some very bright colors. I absolutely love them, but in my opinion these nude nails with various tip colors are just a little bit extra fun. I think using different shades of nudes make them natural enough that they’re appropriate (whatever that means lols), but still chic. 

3. Cow-Print Nails

Next up, a trend that I tried last year, but it did not get enough hype. This year we are bringing it back in a more ~classic~ way, COW NAILS. My friends know I have an obsession with cow spots on everything, but for real these nails are banging. I love how they’re only on a few accented nails too, I think it makes them look cool and mature. You know?

4. Colorful Nails

These nails are easily adaptable to a color pallet you love, but I think they’re a really fun way to not have to choose only one color, because let's be real. Who only wants one? I don’t know. Not me. 

5. Smile Nails

My final pick for 2021 are smile nails, because we all need a reminder that there is happiness and light in these “unprecedented times.” Why not put that reminder on your nails where you’ll see them most?
