6 Easy Ways to Spice Up a Comfortable Fit for Class

As a college student, I always struggle with finding a balance between comfort and style when it comes to getting dressed for class - especially classes in the morning. Recently, I have noticed ways that peers achieve a comfortable yet put together look. Many of these outfit ideas are simple, but will help to elevate your look so it doesn’t seem like you just rolled out of bed and threw an outfit together without thought. Not only are these outfits simple, but they take very little time to put together if you are rushed in the morning. Below are some simple ways to achieve this look.

Matching Sets:

Over the past couple of years, the matching set trend has skyrocketed. This includes anything from sweatsuits to a matching skirt and top. Of course, if you are looking for a cozier option for class, sticking to matching loungewear is the perfect option. This is a great way to ensure maximum comfort, while also looking like you tried. A matching set is a very simple way to throw together a full outfit with minimal effort.

Monochromatic Outfits:

Wearing a monochromatic outfit or styling oneself in a toned theme is a very easy way to make it look like more effort was put into comfortable clothing. What makes these different from matching sets is that monochromatic outfits allow one to play with different tones throughout the outfit. Throwing on a pair of brown sweatpants and a brown sweater of a different shade, can help elevate a simple look, making it appear put together.

Vests

Whether you wear a puffer vest or a sweater vest, layering them over sweats or sweaters can give any outfit a boost. This one easy addition to an outfit provides the illusion that more thought was put in, when in reality all you need to do is throw it on top. These are great to keep in mind when getting ready for class in the fall or winter. I find myself struggling to motivate myself to look cute as it begins to grow colder, but a vest is simple enough to keep you looking presentable.

Flared Yoga Pants:

As the years go on, many trends are recycled. One recent trend making a reappearance is flared yoga pants. A main reason for their comeback is how incredibly comfy they are while adding a nice base you can style many different ways. Also, the shape of these pants adds a unique element that elevates yoga pants beyond traditional leggings.

Oversized Sweaters & Prints:

Adding color and patterns into your wardrobe shows a playful side of your personal style.  Wearing a sweater with an oversized fit may leave you warmer and more content for those early morning classes. This is a great way to spice up your style (and your closet) for class while putting in minimal effort.

Jewelry:

Whether you are a gold or silver person, adding jewelry will pull together any outfit. Throwing on even just a couple pieces of jewelry will add depth. Again, this will elevate your look with minimal effort though it only takes a couple of seconds. I would definitely recommend getting  some chunky earrings and necklaces that will stand out no matter what you wear. This way, the jewelry draws attention so it appears that you have thrown together a nicer outfit.
