2025 Trends
Happy New Year, BOS readers! It's good to see you back. 2024 was a year filled with dividing fashion statements, so we’re eager to see what 2025 may have in store for us fashion lovers. The cyclical nature of fashion trends have brought us through the ‘80s with mom jeans, the ‘90s with slouchy pants and corset tops, and the ‘00s with the comeback of low-rise jeans, big belts, and the rise of the Fendi baguette in recent years.
From boho-chic styles to throw-back patterns, 2025 brings us to the re-emergence of the 2010s- which may come as alarming to some of us. Luckily, only the best of it is coming back. Here are my predictions for the trends of the new year. And warning, the last may surprise you…
Let’s dig in.
1. Lace, Sheer, Flowy Everything:
If you haven't seen the Isabel Marant Aesthetic on your socials yet, you are sure to see it soon. In 2025, prepare to see plethoras of lace details, sheer tops, fringe boots, and flowy silhouettes. These factors provide the perfect edgy feminine touch to any outfit.

Fabrics that move with the wind, like this ready-to-wear Chloé SS15 look pictured to the left, will be everywhere this spring. We won't be able to get enough lace dresses, tops, and pants in 2025, channeling the boho vibes of the 2010s in the chicest ways possible.

2. Tights, Tights, and More Tights!
You heard me loud and clear, the tights we saw at the end of 2024 are making their way back into 2025 in full swing! Not only will we see the classic black sheer tight, but I predict we will see colorful tights, sparkly tights, tights with words, and of course, an abundance of lacey delicate tights. I predict that colorful lace tights will gain popularity in the spring months, as well.
Sparkly tights, like the ones below from Petit Moments, are the perfect way to add a little glam to an outfit.

Lacey tights, like the ones below from legwear favorite Wolford, will continue to be some of the most fast-selling and high-demand pairs.

Finally, tights like these from The Go-To are going to rise in popularity for their sassy and spunky messages placed on the thigh, back of the leg, and waist.

3. Polka Dots!
One of the cutest prints out there, Polka Dots will continue to pop up in 2025. Elie Saab was ahead of the game with the SS24 collection including the “Moon Printed Silk Dress”. High-end designers have continued to reference archival looks from the 2010s in recent collections, like Johanna Ortiz, Carolina Herrera, and Oscar de la Renta.

Looks like these will continue to shine on the runway, which of course will lead to an overflow of polka-dotted cuteness in more accessible, everyday fashion.

4. Green
But what will the color of 2025 be, you ask? GREEN.
We have had our share of blues, pastel yellow, and of course, chocolate brown, in the past few years, but it is now time for green to shine. Lime, Mint, Emerald, Forest, and of course, Hunter Green will be splashed on every high-end fashion house’s runways and storefronts.
Yes, I know, green has been an “it” color for a while now, especially for brands like Prada and Gucci. However, from looking at runways for the upcoming seasons, it is clear that greens in every shade are set for a takeover. Accent colors will shift from pops of red to green tones galore, and our accessories are sure to reflect this as well.
I am personally hoping for this prediction to come true because green is my favorite color, so this may be a biased guess.

My other prediction? Green is going to be seen not only in the fashion world but also in the home design and wedding industries. Stay tuned!
5. Side Parts.
Last but not least, and don’t be mad at me: The side part is back for 2025. Not necessarily the deep side part that took us over in the 2010s, but the voluminous, swept-back, sexy side part is making its comeback this year. The side part will become a chic way to add some spice to an outfit or to add that extra volume we all love to our hair.

That concludes my list of 2025 trend predictions. It is time for the 2010s to shine in a modernized and chic comeback, and I am loving it. Even if these aren’t correct predictions for the new year, I know I will be participating in these fashion choices. Will you?
