Natural Makeup Look: Izzy's Favorite Products

Disclosure: I’m not really what one would call a beauty guru. Don’t get me wrong, I love makeup. But, my looks are often inspired by sheer minimalism—nude lip colors, dewy foundation, natural eyeshadow, etc. That being said, I have practically mastered my perfect everyday natural makeup, complete with glowing skin and a pop of color on the lip. Here are my favorite products for the girls that love natural makeup.

1. Glossier Generation G

This, hands down, is one of my favorite products OF. ALL. TIME. Obsessed with French girl beauty like I am? Glossier Generation G sheer matte lipstick is the perfect—and I mean literally perfect—way to achieve the matte, blotted lipstick look that French girls love to pout. Throw this on and it instantly elevates your look. My favorite shade right now is “Crush” but I definitely plan on building my collection.

2. Nars Sheer Glow Foundation

There’s a funny story behind my love for this foundation. Basically, I got suckered into buying $200 worth of Nars products after asking the Nars counter at Ulta for a nude lip. I got the nude lip, but this foundation was the real winner of the shopping spree. I layer this directly over my moisturizer with a foundation brush. Super blendable and buildable, especially on freshly moisturized skin. Set it with my next fav product ;)

3. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Finishing Powder

Been using this product since I was stealing it out of my mom’s makeup bag. Definitely caved and bought my own. I am obsessed with this powder. I tend to veer more towards a dewy foundation look and often skip powder altogether. BUT, I do layer this powder over my Nars foundation in spots that tend to get oily and it looks radiant. Obsessed. Period.

4. Hourglass Girl Lip Stylo and Extreme Sheen High Shine Lip Gloss

Okay, I know I have a lot of stuff on here that’s I’m like, This is my favorite, and all of that. But, this is actually my freaking favorite. I’ve bought and rebought this combination of products since my junior year of high school and literally nothing compares. I’m not super into lipstick, but this lip crayon is so creamy. Topped with the gloss and this combo is MONEY.

5. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

This is my favorite drug store beauty product. The Maybelline Fit Me Concealer is a dupe for the infamous Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, but for like $5. Everytime I run out, I just keep buying the same one. Not-so-pro tip: Buy a lighter shade of this than you normally would to put under your eyes and blend. I freaking love this technique because it brightens your entire face up. Still, buy your correct shade to hide blemishes and such.

6. Nars Blush in Orgasm

Been told I love blush like no other, which is true. I can’t get enough color on my cheeks, especially in the winter when everyone in Boston is pale and gray. I throw on this Nars Blush (KEY: in the shade “Orgasm,” IDK really about any of the other shades) and it is so nice and rosy.

7. Stila Shimmer & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow

This product is single handedly the lazy girl’s guide to glam. I think my friend’s can attest to the fact that they’ve never seen me use powder eye shadow in my entire life. I just don’t do it. But, I do have this Stila liquid eye shadow in like four different shades that I keep ON LOCK. Depending on the shade, you can wear this during the day time and layer it up with something smokier for night.

8. Murray’s Beeswax

THIS, my friends, THIS is my absolute favorite beauty innovation of the past year. I went to get my eyebrows waxed for the first time in like two years—I like the bushy look okay, don’t judge—and my tech recommended this to me. This replicates the bushy Soap Brows look a la Dua Lipa for a fraction of the price. Put some on a spooly brush and brush your eyebrows up—the beeswax helps your brows to stay in place like a brow gel would. Thank me later.
